What would you do if you won the lottery? I play every week. It gives me two things. One is a low-grade gambling addiction. Two, it also offers me the canon fodder for daydreams. As you will realise, those of you who have followed Tat for a while, my life runs on daydreams. I dream of holidays, parties and, of course, houses. I think my main dream is to purchase a Georgian house and then fill it with antiques from the dealers I know and respect. Even thinking about it now fills me with a distant and hopeful feeling, which I believe for £2.50 (I play the Euros) ain't a bad deal. That being said, I listened to a Tortoise Media podcast the other day that said the National Lottery is a bit of a racket, so perhaps save your coins.
Either way, here are some stellar pieces I would happily home if I had the space or the money.
A few things to note: Tat currently has a 20% off site-wide sale with code JAN20; this finishes on Saturday.
Suppose you are keen on seeing some great dealers, even if you're not in the market for anything new (old); head to Battersea Decorative Fair next week. I always find it inspirational even if I don't buy anything.
From the list below -
2 - This dealer has my heart. I would love to occupy the house they shoot their pieces in, but I would need to keep all the pieces. A terrible business model, but what a lovely home we would have.
4 - What a day bed, bestill my beating heart.
18 - A good deal & this company I have used basically to furnish my home - two sofas + dining room chairs all for £1,200.
19 - I bought a cupboard from my studio from this place. I love it, and the delivery was free! Keep these guys in mind for any kitchen cupboards or dressers; they have such an excellent collection of sturdy, good-looking, and well-priced pieces.
