Our Favourite Picks From Milan Design Week
A quick pit stop at the Milan Design Week proved extremely fruitful.
For those who have yet to go to Milan Design Week, I can give you a watercolour description of what it is like. Firstly all accommodation becomes excessively expensive. Hostels lean into boutique hotel pricing and suspect Airbnb's charge penthouse prices. But if you put that aside, there is no escaping the thrill of Milan Design Week. There is a hum on the street. Every doorway offers up a new piece of design that can boggle the mind. You have extraordinary shows where people push boundaries, and there is genuine excitement to see as much as possible. This, for me, was scuppered. Usually, I would try and spend a few days there, but due to the very (very) exciting Tat Exhibition taking place this week, I decided to cut it short and spend two days in Milan. I felt the race was on to visit the whole of Milan. It was unsuccessful. I saw some marvellous things, but another day would have relieved the pressure. So below are products, not just ideas, that I wanted to share with you. I tried to find things that would be practical, and although the concepts are stimulating - between me, you and the lampost, tangible product is easier for me to convey. Hopefully, these will offer up some use, excitement and a little curiosity.
