A couple of years ago, a friend & I did the Living Etc home tours thing (fab experience, please bring it back!) and we started ticking every trend, one of those bottom vases tick, one of those heavy Assouline books tick, Crittal windows tick, that sort of thing. In the end they were all of a moment and we wondered what would happen when those things were out of fashion. They all looked like they’d come straight out of the latest modern interiors magazine and there was no window into the soul of the people who lived there.
On the other hand, a house full of old stuff can be equally stultifying too!
you are just genius..... such wonderful, thoughtful, life enhancing advice. There is such beauty in taking your time, acquiring what you love, and continue to love, adding the antique with the new.... just brilliant.
